Kyle’s nose is the same shape as before, just has a different head on look because I never really knew how to draw that nose shape when looking at it head on.
But if you’re comparing this
to this
then yeah, that’s gonna happen. It’s been 4 years. If you’re overly obsessed with consistency you kind of force yourself to stagnate. It’s not so different that you don’t recognize the boys.
Aside from Kenny’s height and hair and Cartman’s jaw, they’re fundamentally the same. I just made their facial features more distinct.
Doesn’t it creep you guys out shipping 9 years olds..? ._. Been a while since I worked on any of my Craig x Tweek stuff, because no matter how much we change their age, they’re still 9 years old in canon, which is disturbing whenever I try to work on some yaoi stuff. It’s really hard to take the show’s ships seriously, because of it. That’s one of the biggest reasons why my fanfics about them are unfinished. The guilt takes over real fast, and it’s just–nnnngghh!–
To be honest, I secretly shipped Mr. Garrison and Mr. Mackey. I giggle all the time whenever I see those two. I don’t know why. I just thought it would be hilarious if they hooked up. LOL. Craig x Tweek shined to me more, though, which is not so good for me since they’re really young. It’s like seeing two kids down the park, holding hands, and you’re over there sitting on a bench, imagining how good their relationship would be in the future, and that includes their sex life too. I’ve read some really good ones, but at the end of the day, their real age just ends up bothering me more.
Shipping these South Park characters just feels really ridiculous with everyone pointing fingers at each other while they do the same thing with more safety of course; Pick your favorite UNDERAGE ship, change their age, put them in an alternate universe where they’re actually legal, and then on with the angst/romance/sexual content. It’s like icing on a cake, just sugarcoated all of those facts about them, their age, their height, anything that would keep you away from the “pedophile” category.
So if you guys have any other games or shows that you can recommend me that doesn’t require people to change the character’s real age just so they can be qualified for sexual content in the story (which most people do, you know who you are, I was one of them too, don’t worry lol but it’s bad >:L BAD!) that would be most appreciated.
I think I’ll just watch South Park only for the lolz. It’s a really great show with a fandom that contradicts each other… Thanks.
To each their own for sure, but it’s worth mentioning that a lot of fans grew up with these characters. Many started off the same age or younger when they first watched, and throughout the years we watched these characters change as we’ve also changed.
They’re not a static age to fans. In the fandom world they’re viewed as peers – people you relate to and aspire to be like. To fans their age is whatever fans want it to be, and generally that’s in the teens.
And their age isn’t exactly practical to their characters in the show either. It’s a comedy show where nowadays the children take the roles of the adults and vice versa. (Informative Murder Porn being the most on the nose example.)
Like, Season 1 Kyle compared to Season 20 Kyle? They serve completely different roles. At this point the boys remaining 10 after all these years is just for maintaining their iconic appearance, and their age is nothing more than virtual.
I mean call it creepy all you want but anyone in the fandom knows why they like their ships, and it has absolutely nothing to do with their age.
am i the only one that thinks when cartman gets older he’s not going to be that fat and he’ll lose a lot of baby fat? i mean i don’t think he’s gonna be SKINNY he’s still gonna be overweight but i just feel like he’s gonna be hottt
It depends on his calorie intake. If he grows up to be like 6′0+ yeah it’s gonna be kind of hard to maintain all that fat when his body build is absorbing so many calories.
On top of that, his leg muscles are going to be like rocks since he does so much unintentional exercise in his childhood. I mean the fact that he was even able to have that highspeed bigwheel chase in Cartoon Wars indicates that his leg muscles are already really built. That’s common for a lot of fat guys, and fat girls if they’re active. Carrying all that weight around every day and maintaining those calories means those leg muscles are staying there.
So factoring in the idea of Cartman being six feet+ and his supporting muscles, he’d have to consume like 3000-4000 calories a day in order to keep being fat. That’s a rough estimate but what I’m saying is he’d probably have to make an effort to be as fat as he is in the show. But knowing how much shit he eats this would be easy depending on his mentality.
These will be my own interpretations of each of the main four. Since these are gonna take a while I may as well separate them into individual posts by character. Besides they’re easier on people’s dashes this way.
Kenny… I fully expect this to be a tough one.
Introverted – “
I often prefer doing things alone or with one or two people I feel comfortable with. I take time to reflect so that I have a clear idea of what I’ll be doing when I decide to act. Ideas are almost solid things for me.”
Well this one’s easy. Kenny’s very clearly an introvert. He talks to only a handful of people and only chooses a few moments to do so, other times simply taking in information or satiating his own boredom. But socializing? Not one of his hobbies. There’s even some times where he’s silent even when people directly talk to him.
His reactions are mostly internal, making external reactions seem very minimal.
Another thing I noticed, on the topic of that ^ Kenny doesn’t really talk to his parents. It’s more like they tell each other things and then that’s the end of it.
There are only a handful of scenes I’ve seen where Kenny talks to his parents and they’re all short and to the point. The only exception is when he’s dressed as Mysterion. That’s actually an interesting thing to note. I could totally see Kenny using this as a way to talk to his family completely unfiltered.
The fact that Kenny doesn’t talk to his family much actually makes the depiction of his friendships even more heartwarming, since with the four boys he definitely comes out of his shell, showing a little snippet of every side of him to them.
But even then, he’s still pretty reserved. There’s very few times when Kenny will do something like go on a long winded speech or go out of his way to start a conversation. That’s got nothing to do with a comfort zone. That’s just the way Kenny is. He’s not shy, especially with his filthy mouth. He just doesn’t talk much.
Sensing – “Paying attention to physical reality, what I see, hear, touch, taste, and smell. I’m concerned with what is actual, present, current, and real. I notice facts and I remember details that are important to me.“
When I took the test I got the result of INTJ, but that was a little while ago, and looking at Kenny with the info I’m reading about the MBTI, the way he makes decisions is definitely in a Sensing approach, not an Intuitive approach.
Kenny is very much about the reality of every situation. He observes things in a very “that’s the way it is” manner, constantly weighing his options over whether or not it’s worth taking action as opposed to letting it happen. Most of the time he doesn’t interfere with most things, probably from a fear of dying if things escalate too quickly, which, they tend to do. And that of course is because of his repeated experience of dying at the drop of a hat.
But that’s when things are already in motion. On the flip side, when nothing is happening and he is asked to do something, he often doesn’t object. Especially if it’s for the sake of an activity for his friends,
or for the sake of money.
But despite all the watching and thinking he does, he really doesn’t bother with philosophical or morally dubious questions. It’s an easy task for Kenny to accept things the way they are without much hesitation, and he can’t really be bothered with the question why.
That’s probably how he ended up being Cartman’s best friend. A loyal friend who doesn’t ask questions makes for a good partner in crime.
Feeling –
“I believe I can make the best decisions by weighing what people care about and the points-of-view of persons involved in a situation. I am concerned with values and what is the best for the people involved. I like to do whatever will establish or maintain harmony. In my relationships, I appear caring, warm, and tactful.”
Probably the biggest misconception in the fandom is how Kenny handles relationships. Sure he talks a lot about how he wants to fuck tons of bitches to his friends and is incredibly crude about it, but that’s not how he treats his girlfriends.
Despite his frustrations with them and the fact that he actually does want to get laid with them, he treats them very sweetly and never directs any anger towards the particular girl he’s with.
And even when it looks like he’s not going to get what he wants he still sticks around with them, even though he’s not happy with the outcome. He’ll go along with it for them.
The fact that he changed his entire lifestyle for Tammy with no hope of a reward was a very drastic decision, but considering it was his first real life girlfriend it was probably a nice change to his usual domestic setting.
At a first glance this may not seem like a drastic decision considering it’s just settling into a dreary life, but it really is one. Kenny was consistently exposed to completely different stimulants before he went along with Tammy’s weird ring philosophy. Huffing paint, drawing tits, playing bloody video games, looking at playboys… For him to live a very opposite life, even when Tammy wasn’t around to catch him doing something different is very much an extreme. And it’s very rare for him to do.
Usually consistent in his everyday but subtly delinquent life, Kenny’s decision making rarely leads him to jumping into action. When it does, it’s purely emotion driven.
And most of the time incredibly reckless.
Those decisions aren’t logic driven. There may be logic behind it, but that isn’t what makes them happen. He feels the emotion, for maybe a few seconds he may rationalizes, but then he just does it.
Perceiving – “I use my perceiving function (whether it is Sensing or Intuition) in my outer life. Others see me staying open to new experiences and information. I like to stay open to respond to whatever happens. I appear to be loose and casual. I like to keep plans to a minimum. I work in bursts of energy.”
Kenny doesn’t give a fuck.
I mean he does, but he certainly doesn’t think it’s worth worrying over. Kenny goes with the flow. STDs? Fuck it let’s roll the dice. Girlfriend not giving you a blowjob? Fuck it, watch some Grey’s Anatomy. Peruvian Flute Band stealing your thunder? Fuck it let’s dance.
He’s very fond of not being stressed and he definitely doesn’t like to brood. Slowing down to Kenny is the worst and he’d always rather being doing something than sitting down and moping about something not going his way.
Kenny just goes wherever life takes him, constantly being entertained by what he sees and just going with it as best he can.
Kenny isn’t negative or bored unless he’s absolutely forced to be. He’ll look for any kind of stimulant to avoid boredom and negativity. And considering he’s poor and lives in an abusive household, sometimes these wacky adventures his best friend and friend group drag him on aren’t around enough. Sometimes he needs a little substitute.
Kenny isn’t picky. He’s flexible and willing to try anything.
Overall Kenny is definitely a rare type of character. The quiet kid who will roll with anything you throw at him. An incredibly loyal friend who talks about doing the filthiest things but is also a sweetheart to women, and also a little bit of a druggie. But somehow, it all ties together. Character goals.
That’s my character analysis on Kenny. Next up is Cartman… oh boy, that’s gonna be fun.
These will be my own interpretations of each of the main four. Since these are gonna take a while I may as well separate them into individual posts by character. Besides they’re easier on people’s dashes this way.
Stan
Extroverted – (”I like getting my energy from active involvement in events and having a lot of different activities. I’m excited when I’m around people and I like to energize other people. I like moving into action and making things happen.”)
While Stan has numerous moments where he’s withdrawn he makes it pretty clear that he likes being the center of attention. Even if he’s not a hyperactive social butterfly as the stereotype of extroverts goes, he definitely loves being the cool kid and having a large reach of friends. He might not seek it out all the time, but he definitely loves to impress people.
Literally when anyone gives the slightest bit of approval he has a 50% chance of making a movie, commercial or presentation about it.
This kind of approval will make him leap before he looks, often regretting it soon after.
He also tends to follow the crowd even if he doesn’t really want to and often doesn’t know why he’s doing what he’s doing as a result of that. This leads to him contradicting himself either intentionally or unintentionally and then being very dejected afterward.
Sensing – (”
Paying attention to physical reality, what I see, hear, touch, taste, and smell. I’m concerned with what is actual, present, current, and real. I notice facts and I remember details that are important to me. I like to see the practical use of things and learn best when I see how to use what I’m learning. Experience speaks to me louder than words.”)
This directly ties in with Stan’s cynicism. He is constantly critical of anything and everything and is the first, if not second to Kyle, to call something out for what it objectively is.
This is what grounds Kyle, a potential idealist, back to reality.
When Kyle saw one cold reading that insisted his dead grandma wanted him to go to Juilliard, Stan did some investigating, whipped out some books and went out of his way to convince Kyle to snap out of it and see the situation for what it really was.
When Kyle came to him with stars in his eyes about his great new business, Stan was skeptical. Kyle knew by instinct that Stan, the objective thinker would be just as hype about it if he just saw it with his own eyes. The video of two deformed babies struggling to grab a ball of crack, along with Stan’s “I don’t need to say anything. Listen to yourself.” approach broke Kyle’s illusion because it was so painfully objective.
When Kyle was believed he was being a martyr for the middle east, Stan looked at him and said “You’re just sucking farts and being all high and mighty about it.”
He’s always the first to call something out for being stupid.
Stan thinks in facts, not in ideas. What is, not what might be or what it could mean. Even when he’s caught up in his friends fantasies, which he does enjoy, he is usually the first to stop and call it stupid. This puts a great balance in his group, considering when he’s not caught up in his own ego, he provides solid ground for his friends.
Feeling – (”I believe I can make the best decisions by weighing what people care about and the points-of-view of persons involved in a situation.”)
Despite clearly having an ego, when Stan is faced with a situation where he has to conserve something he deeply cares about, his ego generally doesn’t get in the way. Most of Stan’s calls to action are either because of ego or purely out of sympathy.
Like hijacking a TV show and doing blatantly illegal acts of violence for the sake of saving whales. Or kidnapping a bunch of baby cows so they don’t get turned into veal. Or writing a hit song or tricking one of his friend’s to get an operation, both to save his best friend’s life. Also trying to do the right thing and turn himself in because he felt guilty about ruining people’s lives.
Stan unfortunately isn’t that in tune with other people’s feelings, but this doesn’t mean he’s not empathetic. He just gets really caught up in whatever’s in front of him and ends up hurting people in the process.
Despite his lack of malice, this happens frequently. He doesn’t mean to fuck up, but he does. His conflicting objective thinking, ego and emotional decision making constantly fucks him over. His peers abandon him, and his biggest support is gone. This quickly goes in a downward spiral and ends with Stan beating himself up about it.
Percieving – (”
I use my perceiving function ((whether it is Sensing or Intuition)) in my outer life. To others, I seem to prefer a flexible and spontaneous way of life, and I like to understand and adapt to the world rather than organize it. Others see me staying open to new experiences and information.”)
Percieving personalities are very flexible, but they also often don’t plan ahead.
This is already evident in Stan in the form of lack of control. His biggest conflict is prone to repeating itself time and time again. He doesn’t plan or prepare to avoid letting himself crash and burn, and in turn has no idea what he should do when the situation arises again except in that moment try a slightly new approach, but by that time, he is so caught up in the emotion of the situation that little to nothing changes.
However, Stan does get the good in the perceiving category as well. While he does tend to fuck up a lot, if he still has friends around who are encouraging him to do something new (most of the time) he will roll with it (provided his Extraverted Thinking doesn’t make him a total stick in the mud.)
The double edged sword to this is when he’s down in the dumps he’s more prone to trying new, addictive things like drinking and freemium games. But hey, anything for a change of scenery. This kind of flexibility is also what allows him to jump into new ambitious things that his ambitious friends might scheme up–
–like abandoning his subpar relationship for the sake of getting successful and being dripping in bitches.
In summary Stan’s traits seem to be very tightly knit together in all his actions. He loves to impress and entertain anyone he comes across, but is also cynical and gets caught up in what he’s doing and loses what he values most in the process. Despite this, he does have a tendency to maintain his confidence and stick with his true friends.
These will be my own interpretations of each of the main four. Since these are gonna take a while I may as well separate them into individual posts by character. Besides they’re easier on people’s dashes this way.
Kyle
Introverted – (”I like getting my energy from dealing with the ideas, pictures, memories, and reactions that are inside my head, in my inner world. I often prefer doing things alone or with one or two people I feel comfortable with.”)
First and foremost, Kyle is an introvert. Individuality is important to him and he is constantly looking at himself in a critical way. Even in tense situations he is constantly self reflective and tends to view things on a much deeper level on his peers.
He’s never following the crowd. He never knows the trends, never knows gossip and relies on his extroverted friends to know what’s going on in the world most times. It’s never his priority to get into everyone’s business at school, though he knows at some level it is a necessity.
But naturally he’s in his own world. He wants to make sure that his ideals are kept in check and he wants to make sure that he’s the one keeping them in check.
Intuitive – (
“Paying the most attention to impressions or the meaning and patterns of the information I get. I would rather learn by thinking a problem through than by hands-on experience. I’m interested in new things and what might be possible, so that I think more about the future than the past. I like to work with symbols or abstract theories, even if I don’t know how I will use them.
“)
On the surface Kyle MAY want to be the “get the facts straight” kind of guy, but that’s just because he’s following in Stan’s footsteps. Kyle very often is the first one to seek and sight the deeper meaning in situations, and ask “what does that mean?” instead of “what objectively happened?” He is the first to accuse Cartman of being the cause of something or be the cause of something because he knows how Cartman is.
When his friends see something minor happen he’ll get worried because he knows what it will lead to.
He analyzes a lot deeper than others expect and can see signs of something repeating itself before it happens. And as we know he’s practically gone nuts over analyzing when it’s come to reality in ToothFairy’s Tats 2000.
Feeling – (
“
I believe I can make the best decisions by weighing what people care about and the points-of-view of persons involved in a situation. I am concerned with values and what is the best for the people involved. I like to do whatever will establish or maintain harmony.”)
I mean this one’s pretty straight forward isn’t it? Kyle’s the most justice-driven boy of the group. And it’s not just justice for the sake of what’s right, even though people may see it as that. Contrary to popular and his own belief, Kyle does not actually believe in Karma. He doesn’t systematically keep track of people’s wrongdoings and crucify them for that. He lives in a world of second chances because that’s based on what he feels should be done. No calculations needed. Just, in the moment. Hell, think of how many second chances he gives Cartman.
Kyle’s actions are heavily driven by his emotions. And that means it’s not rational. Even though he willingly placed himself in staggering amounts of debt for an entire town of people who didn’t know how to handle money and surely didn’t deserve it, he also knowingly exploited infants for his own personal gain and also tried to rationalize it. His actions aren’t by any stretch of the imagination rational, and surely when he gets older his consistency will even out– but – What’s important here is WHY he made these contrasting decisions.
Because of his environment. In one situation, he exploited babies sure, but everyone around him was happy and smiling. People were having fun. He was placed in a position where he could brighten people’s days with a little bit of cash and a happy go lucky attitude – one reflected from his partners.
The other situation he acted drastically because of the environment he was placed in. Everyone around him was in complete distress. They were stressed, angry, afraid. Kyle is an empathetic person, susceptible to the emotions he feels around him. When someone feels, he feels.
His emotions completely dictated his actions and therefore he was able to make a massive sacrifice that in any other situation would have seemed completely ludicrous. His hunger for Justice is completely passion driven, whether it’s empathy or anger.
Meaning in the same regard, that he can’t force this kind of “justice” out of himself when he feels it’s not warranted, even though objectively and by laws of Karma, a certain individual does deserve his justice.
Judging – (“To others, I seem to prefer a planned or orderly way of life, like to have things settled and organized, feel more comfortable when decisions are made, and like to bring life under control as much as possible.”)
As seen directly in A Very Crappy Christmas, Kyle heavily prefers to make plans and follow through with them. This doesn’t mean he does so all the time; emotions can get in the way, but it’s what he’s most comfortable with. With a straight forward attitude like Kyle’s, ambiguity is frustrating. Despite his vivid imagination and the vast realm of possibilities, he’s frightened by “what if’s.” They pop into his mind all the time, but if he doesn’t figure them out, it makes him anxious.
Things have to be done. If they’re in the process of being done, or MIGHT be done, we’ll see, Kyle gets frustrated. Especially if it’s something he doesn’t like. Unlike the other boys he doesn’t enjoy stalling and pushes himself to make decisions no matter how hard they may be.
Kyle hates being left hanging. There always has to be an answer. Even if the answer is “I don’t know.” Even if it’s a grey area, declarations, to Kyle, are necessary.
I’ll be doing the rest of the main four soon, one by one.
Yeah, the bisexual mun is “erasing” bisexuality; I understand your logic. So you want reasons as to why? Here they are:
S19e6-Cartman is shown to have repressed homosexual urges and is even shown at a gay bar in order to confront his gay side. This showing that he is in the closet.
Season 20-They dropped so many hints about Cartman’s ““““feelings”“““ being insincere that it’s not even funny. First off, the pettiness with Kyle; it seemed much more as if they were exes and Eric just wanted to make him jealous. The heiman relationship was out of Eric being diluted and because both of them were lonely. Next, all he could say about why he liked her is that she’s “smart and funny”, which is what (since he was a feminist) he believed was true to be in all females, only he assumed she was the smartest and funniest because she was with him. Also, their whole relationship was based on his validation and compliments as well. Next: Bill Clinton explaining that boys are kissing girl’s asses to keep them from their downfall; he was merely blending in as a feminist. Cartman isn’t one to abandon things so easily. So why after Butters warned him, did he drop girls so easily? Why didn’t he push? Where is Cupid Me? Cupid Me shows up with heterosexual characters too, so where is he? He’s been their for Cartman before, so why not now? Even if Butters hadn’t come around, he would have realized he never actually liked Heidi anyway. It’s pretty well known that this wouldn’t last and wouldn’t be sincere (which is true). Now, he’s miserable being with her (even though they probably broke up off screen), doesn’t even want to hold her hand, and wiped away her kiss. Not to mention that he hates all women, and coming from someone who is bi, that is not how bisexuality works.
Other than that, there have been many occasions where Cartman is shown to only experience genuine attraction for males, and he is in puberty (when you start figuring out your sexuality). Also, I believe it was a certain someone who once said: “You can pretend to like girls all you want”. It seems odd they would build up so much time of him being in the closet, liking yaoi and even drawing it, and just straight up acting gay for him not to be. It seems pointless to me.
Other than that, it’s my opinion. Also: most gay people do date the opposite sex before coming out. It’s not uncommon and dating the opposite sex doesn’t prove anything. *shocker*
Now, you give me more than the famous “erasing his bisexuality” line, hon~
Cartman. Even though Stan is skeptical and all he doesn’t have a “refined” vocabulary. But Cartman thinks it’s necessary to use big vocabulary to impress people he’s trying to schmooze.
do you think Liane was a teen mom (18 or 19) when she had Eric?
Hmmm the only way we can know is if we know her age right now. Though she seems really young.
I just feel like she was probably college age/a teenager when she ran into Jack Tenorman, I mean, maybe she had packed up all that she had from Nebraska and moved to South Park. Idk, I just wanna know more about Liane too.
I think she was in her early 20s and now is in her early 30s
I really want a clear backstory about how Liane meet Jack now!
Well we know that Liane was drunk as fuck and fooled around with nearly everone at The Drunken Barn Dance. It seems like she passed herself around until she got to Jack, who was probably drunk and hyped up by his fellow football players to fuck her.
Since everyone knew Eric was a Tenorman and covered it up as a town, it was probably only Jack who had sex with her, either proclaiming it later with his buddies or doing it publicly in a haystack. I honestly wouldn’t put it past someone at that dance. People barely knew Liane at the time and they were still all over her and trying to fuck her in the haystack. Like… she was pretty new to the town at that time so it’s not like they knew she was a slut. They were just meeting her.
After she was pregnant and it was confirmed the baby was Jack’s the town probably paid her off to make sure she never told anyone outside of the town that it happened.
… I mean, the story could also be fabricated by the town and Jack might’ve just gone over and fucked Liane because he was bored. Because all Scott says when he describes the story is “The only Bronco who lived in South Park. He got a little bored one week and had an affair with a slut named Liane Cartman!” And doesn’t say anything about the dance.
Maybe Liane didn’t become a slut until she had an affair with Jack, got paid massive amounts by the town to keep quiet, and then decided to make that her profession, and the town was ok with it because that just made their story easier. They could just say Cartman’s mom is a slut, so his dad could be anyone.
The whole relationship was cute, but founded under false pretenses. Their attraction to each other, both of them, is purely out of loneliness and desperation. It’s pretty common knowledge that all of Wendy’s group finds Cartman extremely unattractive.
Really, you two, do you think this about Cartman and his feelings?
Heidi does value Eric. She may not love him because she’s a fucking kid. Cartman is not faking, butters made him believe a false idealization of women. is which is why he is distant.
Because he does not want to take her out of his life, but he resents, because he thinks that she’s lying. And it is logical that Cartman thinks this way, because the girls always move away from him.
But in reality heidi is the only person who has given him affection and appreciation, something that even Kyle hasn’t done.
And clarifying one thing. The attraction of cartman towards kyle if it is loneliness and despair. Just remember those episodes where Eric sought to express his feelings desperately and Kyle just got mad at him and left. It is true that he comes to appreciate Cartman in moments, but never showing an interest beyond friendship.
I’m kyman shipper but we also have to be realistic with that.
This has nothing to do with kyman. I do believe Cartman felt genuinely happy with Heidi, but it was only because she validated him when everyone else pronounced him dead. The same goes for Heidi. The only substance to their relationship is Cartmans compliments.
And in this sense Cartman IS lying. He actively edited his language to suit her needs. He lied to people and himself that she was funny. He lied to her that (continuity error because Heidi should have expected this from him) he never said anything bad about women’s sense of humor. Heidi didn’t love Cartman, she loved the script he was following.
And you can say that Butters tricked him into fearing or despising women, but in reality, Cartman was simply reminded of his original plan. From the beginning he was sucking up to women because he feared a gender war. He just ended up tricking himself into believing his own lies.
