Okay what is the deal with Steven universe why does everyone and their mother like it? My girlfriend kept hounding me to watch it so refuse to watch it to find out. Can you tell me why it’s so popular cause from what I see on Tumblr it’s just gay pandoring
It definitely has a bunch of gay fanservice, but the show isn’t primarily about that.
It’s got a lot of really interesting character arcs in it and goes in depth with the way characters interact with each other. The characters make the show, really.
The show’s universe (heh) also has pretty cool mechanics where their alien race is basically compartmentalized into certain roles based on their gem and capabilities. That’s what I like about it, anyway. Their world is very versatile and colorful, and it’s fun to try and decide which gem you’d be.
Been meaning to draw the fusion of Jade and Sapphire, Jadeite! It’s been a while since I drew the Mysterious Gems AU. Feels good to draw it again :3
