I personally don’t think Butters is that smart. But he puts up the dumb kid front because I suppose he thinks it works for him. Whenever he gets any kind of advantage, or his patience runs thin, he changes into a much more ruthless version of himself.
In Faith+1 when everyone is in complete agreement that Cartman is an asshole, Butters waits until everyone has left and while Cartman is on his hands and knees, he makes sure no one is looking before he farts on Cartman and says “Fuck You, Eric.” He specifically waits for no one to see him despite it being pretty clear that everyone thought Cartman was an asshole. Because it’d ruin his innocent dumb kid facade he’s always putting up.
hey guys remember that kyman fic where cartman got a girlfriend and kyle missed him so much that he sat in the playground and cried over a picture of him… and was so jealous that he couldn’t stop interfering in their relationship and tried to break them up for no good reason…. and when he was so confused over his own feelings that he tried to steal cartman‘s girlfriend away from him because the girls told kyle he MUST have a crush on her since he couldn’t help himself from getting involved… and when even THAT didn’t work he accidentally nuked a city in pent up frustration. man that fic was so ooc.

Thanks so much dude. I think that no matter what fandom you go to, you’re gonna find it. People making call out posts and not knowing how to directly confront their problems head on is kind of part of American culture in this day and age. You see the shit on Twitter all the time.
