Do I need to cite that picture again

If anything he swaps.

idk dude, Kyle has said/done some pretty assertive things and Cartman is just a giant pussy in general

Broflovski back at it again to fight for the dom title

In all these pics Kyle isn’t being dominant, he’s being enraged and/or out of control. Big difference.

that’s true, but there’s not that many times in the show where Cartman really acts “dominant”. the thing about Cartman is that he’s a manipulator– he uses words to put himself in a place of power. when faced with a physical challenge, or when he suspects he’s been beaten, he’ll usually immediately surrender or try and find a way to back out. Cartman is a coward, that’s a defining part of his personality. he may act in control, but he’s not all that tough

-rolls up sleeves-

not in control, you say?

If he’s not in control, why do the boys always put him in control of the group?

i can’t really talk in depth about the Stick of Truth example because i haven’t played the game yet, but in all of these instances Cartman was a self-elected leader and the boys only went along with it because they had something to gain. in Crack Baby Athletic Association, Christian Rock Hard, and Go Fund Yourself, the boys took part for a chance at money and/or fame. they put up with Cartman not because they respected him as a leader, but because they thought participating would reward them. in TFBH there was nothing to gain from Cartman leading them, so they kicked him out. he wasn’t in control of that situation, or of his friends: he acted as a leader because the boys let him. that’s not to say Cartman’s not well-versed in business tactics and leadership schemes, because he is– i’ll give him that.

Leadership isn’t something you forcibly take from people. It’s something people entrust you with. Conscious or not the consistency of Cartman being a leader speaks for himself. And if he was bad at being a leader they would choose a different leader after a few bad experiences.
