I don’t get it. Why would it even be a question? There’s no way he could possibly predict Kyle being on LSD.
For me, it’s more like something I just never realised before. Of course Cartman couldn’t know, but I was too swept up in the moment to think about that. It’s only now that it’s been pointed out to me that I’ve thought, “oh, hey, yeah, wtf??” And I think the real real question that’s being asked here is: if Kyle actually hadn’t been on LSD, how was Cartman planning to deal with Kyle being fully aware that it was he who saved him and his family? He’s obviously glad Kyle doesn’t know since he’s making no effort to tell him and every effort to keep it secret. So, like???
He was probably counting on them not knowing who he was because of his suit. He just got lucky that that wasn’t the case because if they weren’t so out of it, they would’ve definitely recognized him.
I don’t know, you can clearly see his face through the helmet visor. And even if they couldn’t, I’m sure they would recognise Cartman’s voice with its distinctive inflections ,and they’d question, “Hey, how come this fat kid in a suit knows our names and where we come from?” But then, South Park doesn’t always make sense, and the characters don’t always have sense, so maybe your theory still stands.
